Spring Raffle

At Sigma Alpha, we believe in more than just membership - we believe in building women who are ready to lead, connect, and make a difference. Through career development, leadership training, and a network of sisters who genuinely show up for one another, we’re dedicated to preparing every member for success long after graduation.

This year, we sent a team of sisters to Denver, Colorado for a national leadership opportunity - and experiences like that are exactly what we work to make possible for every member of our chapter. We can only do it with your support!

To keep these opportunities alive, we’re raffling off TWO incredible baskets filled with Idaho goodies, each valued at $150!

Here’s what your support makes possible:
* Sisterhood events that build lifelong friendships
* Career development and professional resources
* Leadership training that extends beyond the classroom
* Local and national opportunities that broaden our
horizons

Every ticket goes directly toward empowering the women of Sigma Alpha at U of I. Whether you’re a fellow Vandal or simply believe in uplifting women to reach their full potential - we invite you to be a part of our story.

Emerald Ball

Emerald Ball is our annual formal hosted each spring. It is a fun evening full of laughter, dancing, fellowship, and academic recognition!

Ignite Conference

Sigma Alpha Ignite Conference 2026

Our sisters Addilee, Cassidy, Lily, and Maddie had the amazing opportunity to attend the Ignite Conference this year, held in Denver, Colorado ๐Ÿ—ป๐Ÿค Each of them has some takeaways they would like to share:

Addilee: My main takeaway from ignite is that everybody has their own leadership style and it is important to adapt your approach to fit each situation. I am eager to take the things I learned back to our chapter and strengthen our leadership skills as a team.

Cassidy: Leadership is more than directing others — it’s about working together and using your strengths to make a difference. I truly loved my time there, especially connecting with other chapters and learning from their experiences. I grew in understanding the essential elements, staying “above the line,” recognizing others, creating engagement, and keeping communication open by asking questions instead of reacting.

Lily: My main takeaway is that leadership is so incredibly important in every aspect of life. Different styles allow for unique perspectives and immense growth in anywhere they are collaborated. I also absolutely LOVED meeting my sisters from other chapters across the country and learning how all of us do things so uniquely.

Maddie: My main takeaway was that every leadership style has value and a place within a team. Different personalities allow for more collaboration and more opportunities for success. It was a great time meeting and networking with girls across the country!

We are so grateful for our sisters to get this opportunity, and we can’t wait to see what expertise you four bring to our chapter ๐Ÿซถ

National Convention

Sigma Alpha National Convention 2025 ๐Ÿซง๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฎโœจโ˜๏ธ

Our sisters Addie and Codi had the amazing opportunity to attend the Sigma Alpha National Convention this year. They both wanted to share a short part of their experience!

ADDIE: I had a blast at national convention! I attended workshops to develop my leadership and conflict resolution skills, practiced interview skills, and connected with other sigma alpha sisters from all across the nation! I also got to explore the coolest parts of Norfolk, went to the beach, and toured with SiteOne Landscaping. My favorite part of the week was attending a workshop geared towards ag education and extension. I will keep the lessons I learned as I begin my career as an educator and all throughout my life. I’m so excited to share my experience with the chapter!

CODI: During these last 5 days Addie and I traveled to the ΣΑ National Convention in Norfolk, Virginia. We both attended professional development workshops, learned of new and exciting changes happening in our sorority at the national level, voted on national matters during a delegate session, received awards on behalf of our chapter, and toured and explored Norfolk. We made some new friends and created some lasting memories. We can’t wait to see what they learned and can bring back to improve our chapter!

We are so lucky to have such dedicated sisters! ๐ŸŒพโœจ๐Ÿค

Sigma Alpha Fall Banquet

The Sigma Alpha Annual Banquet is a meaningful evening dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments, growth, and sisterhood of our chapter over the past year. It brings together members, alumni, family, and supporters to reflect on the values that define our organization—scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and service—while recognizing the hard work and dedication of each member.

The evening typically includes a shared meal, a formal program, and opportunities to connect and celebrate as a chapter. Throughout the banquet, awards and recognitions are presented to honor academic achievements, leadership contributions, and service efforts within both the sorority and the agricultural community. Members and officers may share reflections on the year, highlight key events and accomplishments, and recognize graduating seniors as they prepare for their next chapter.

In addition to the program, the banquet features a silent auction or fundraising efforts that support chapter initiatives, philanthropy, and future opportunities for members. These activities not only contribute to the success of the chapter but also strengthen connections with the broader community.

More than just an event, the banquet is a time to celebrate the friendships, memories, and shared passion for agriculture that unite Sigma Alpha. It serves as a reminder of the impact our members make both within the organization and in the agricultural industry, while looking ahead with excitement for the future.
